Bike Ride

Hello again and welcome to the 2022 GNFK Bike-a-thon Homepage.

Following on from the remarkable achievement of our maiden event in 2021, this extremely popular occasion will build on the considerable momentum that has been generated by riders, donors, and a great team of volunteers.

First and foremost, we need to remember the true purpose of this cause. Our combined efforts to raise funds for GNKF’s Growing Together Campaign. The significant purchase of a base in the Downtown East Side and the opportunity to serve langar (free food) 7 days a week, this base, will also give rise to a number of community activities that will address the needs of the most vulnerable.  You can be an integral part of this great journey, so thank you.  Remember. all donations are tax deductible and proceeds will go directly to the Building Fund (there are no management or administration costs).  If you are unable to participate as a rider, please consider a role as a volunteer for the day, a Ride Captain or reaching out to donors, all roles are equally important.

This is intended to be a fun-filled yet inspiring experience, this is not a race, we are all equal, and we plan to have riders of all levels of cycling experience concluding at the same time. The ride will be proactively and safely managed by Ride Captains throughout the route, there will be regular refreshment stops and technical support on the day.

There will be three core groups, Beginners, Intermediate and Seasoned riders, with the less experienced starting earlier and gradually allowing the senior most riders to commence later. Further details will be provided once registered and added to our email list.

This year’s route differs from 2021 and has been carefully planned to provide a mix of road and pathways and the terrain will cover some scenic routes as you head towards the Fraser River and the Southern Lower Mainland
