Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

You can register Individually or as a Team.  It’s simple. Visit:  www.gnfk.org.  Click on Bike Ride Button and in the middle of the page, ‘Click Here’ button and Register.

What if I get lost enroute?
The route will be clearly marked and there will be ride captains and marshals. You can use a mobile App or GPS. As well, all riders will be given a map of the route with pit stops.
What if I can’t keep up with the other cyclists?

First of all this is not a race, it’s a steady bike ride. The  Ride Captains will set a pace for everyone.

What if my bicycle gets a puncture?

Not to fret.  There will be bike tech’s, and support trucks to help you out.

Are all the cyclists and walkers meeting at the end at the same time?
Yes, everyone plans to meet at Ryall park in New Westminster for approximately 2pm, a procession will then be led to where we started, Sukh Sagar Gurdwara, 347 Wood St.
Will be there be snacks available enroute?

Yes, volunteers will be available en route to provide drinks and snacks.

Can I wear my own T-Shirt?

We humbly ask you wear the official Bike-a-Thon provided free by GNFK.

Are we all cycling in one large group?

No.  There will be teams of 25.  Each will be assigned an experienced cyclists (Captain).  Rules will be explained e.g. cycle safely and stay in your lane, observe all traffic signals, and do not distract other cyclists.

Will there be somewhere for me to park my car?
Yes, there is on-street parking on Wood St., Boyd St. and Ewen Ave. Ryall Park also has free parking. Carpooling or public transport is ideal; the closest Skytrain station is 22nd Street Station, it’s a 17 minute walk to Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar (starting location).
